Hi, I'm Laura the owner of Super Nova Photography. I was born and raised in Narborough, Leicester and moved back here when we started our family in 2017.
I am an ex-professional dancer, having trained at 3 dance schools in my childhood; Edmar, Pirouette & Gracedieu, and Future Faces theatre school. I then continued my training at the prestigious Bird College in Kent, gaining a National Diploma in Musical Theatre in 2010. I worked professionally as a dancer and singer, touring Majorca, touring the UK, at holiday parks & performing in the London 2012 Olympics opening ceremony.
I taught myself photography with the intention of being able to capture pictures of my own family, but when I captured dancers for the first time in 2019 I knew I had found my niche. Using my dance knowledge, I am able to help pose and correct technique in order to get the best photos possible of your dancers. I can also photograph dance shows and festivals, capturing invaluable memories of their talent and passion for the arts.
I took a break from photography in 2021 in order to complete my family, and I am now a happy, part-time working, busy Mum of 3 children, 1 fur baby and wife to my husband Tom.
It's now Autumn 2024 and I am opening my books again to clients new and old, with a new niche of Family photography which I adore! Having a 7, 2 & 1 year old myself, I am very used to getting photos where my subjects don't quite do as they're told. My aim for family photoshoots is capturing candid photos, with natural smiles, full of fun and laughter.
I am also still photographing dancers, dance shows, dance festivals, families, children & animals.
